Getting Started:Β Instructions are with quick disconnect connectors.Β In combat robotics soldering is always better than connectors.Β For those soldering, cut off the connectors and solder direct to the drive motors.
Charge your battery.Β The kit includes a 2s 300mAh Lipo Battery.Β Do not run your bot until the battery has been fully charged.Β They ship with a storage charge of roughly 40% capacity.Β If you run down the battery too far it will not take a charge and will require replacement.Β Typical fight length is 3 minutes, make sure to charge after each match.Β

Build Time: 30 -60 minutes
Assembly Instructions:
Step 1) Weapon MotorΒ
- Install pulley onto weapon motor.Β
- Tip: Β Dremel a flat spot on the shaft for the set screw to reduce risk of pulley coming loose.
- Install motor in chassis using access holes on left side of chassis and M3 x 8mm Screws (Item 3)
- Make sure the belt is over the pulley before installing motor.
- Tip: This step requires a little finesse. Β Run a screw threw first and align the motor with that screw. Β Leave a little loose to align the next screw, then tighten. Β The wires will come straight out the back when aligned properly.Β

Β Step 2) Install Charge Jack into Chassis
- Remove plug and jack nut, insert into hole at left of chassis, secure with jack nut, insert plug from bottom.Β
- This will serve as your power switch for the robot.
- If the plug is in, the robot is off, when the plug is removed the robot is powered and activated.

*If youβve added the optional B6Neo charger you can charge your robot thru this plug w/o removing the battery.

Step 3) Drive Mounts
- Attach Carbon Fiber Motor Mounts to chassis using #4 Plastites (Item 4).

Step 4) Power Wiring
- Connect XT30 pigtail to drive ESC. Β These are your power wires for the ESC. Β
- Insert power wires into lever clamps. Β Reds together and blacks together.
- The red/black motor leads are connected later

Step 5) Connect Motor Leads and Install Drive Motors
- The left motor uses the βinner pairβ and is red (pos) and black (neg). Β Right motor uses the βouter pairβ and is reversed, red (neg), black (pos). Β Pic Below
- Note orientation in pic when installing. Β Both are βflatβ. Β
- Route battery power wire under the left hand motor
- Attach motors to mounts using M2 x 4mm Screws (Item 3)

It should look like the pic below.

Step 6) Receiver -Plug ESCs into Receiver, image (with FS-I4 TX/RX option.)
Β ****WARNING β DO NOT plug your battery into the receiver.Β It will immediately cook it.
- 1 pin plug from Drive ESC into CH1.
- 3 pin plug from Repeat ESC into CH2.
- Weapon ESC plug into CH3.

Step 7) Battery and Packing Wires
- Plug weapon motor wires in the BL20A ESC
- Tip: Β If you need to change the direction the motor is spinning simply swap any two motor wires on the weapon ESC.
- - Plug in battery (make sure charge jack is connected so the robot is still off). Β Place behind righthand motor with wires on the right.
- Stack lever clamps on receiverΒ
- Place drive ESC behind lefthand motor
- Weapon ESC stacks on top of righthand motor
- Remaining wiring packs in to the left of the lever clamps.Β

Step 8) Weapon Drum
- Hand press SCE44 Bearings into Drum
- Loop belt over drum pulley and run weapon shaft thru.
- Tighten locknut on weapon shaft. Β Do not over tighten, the shaft should float around freely.Β

Step 9) Install Lid

Install lid using 6-32 x 1.5β Button Socket Cap screws and lock nuts (Items 1 & 2).Β

Step 10) Install Lid
- Install Twist Hub onto motor shaft with the set screw tightening on the flat side (βDβ) of the shaft.
- Press tire over Twist Hub
- Set retaining ring in place
- Press down retaining ring and twist into place using Twist Key or needlenose pliers.

Safety Notes
- This is a spinner and even though itβs a 3d printed blade it spins fast enough to do damage.Β Make sure to use a weapon safety (we sell a safety clamp) and do not spin it up unless in a safe enclosure.Β
- Lipo batteries can be volatile.Β Always charge in a lipo bag.Β We sell one large enough to hold the entire robot if you want to use the charge jack port instead of removing the battery.Β
Startup Instructions:Β
Make sure your weapon throttle is turned all the way down before powering the robot.Β With the throttle all the way down, pull out the plug from your charge jack, Β it will initialize properly and youβll hear a fun little series of beeps.
